Minamata Convention on Mercury (Announcement of Entry into Force) Instrument 2022

I, Trevor Evans, Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for the Environment, under:

                     (a)  item 1 of the table in subsection 2(1) of the Minamata Convention on Mercury (Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2021; and

                     (b)  item 1 of the table in subsection 2(1) of the Recycling and Waste Reduction (Mandatory Product Stewardship—Mercury-added Products) Rules 2021;

announce that the Minamata Convention on Mercury done at Minamata on 10 October 2013 comes into force for Australia on 7 March 2022.
