1  Name

                   This instrument is the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Amendment (Education Measures No. 2) Regulations 2022.

2  Commencement

             (1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

                   This instrument is made under the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Act 1997.

Bursaries to attract students into teaching

To increase the number of students entering teaching by funding, as benefits to students, bursaries to support students who are undertaking study for a recognised initial teacher education qualification.

First Nations Educators in primary schools program

To enable the placement in primary schools of First Nations Educators to teach First Nations languages and First Nations cultures.

This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to measures to give effect to Australia’s obligations under either or both of the following:

(a) the Convention on the Rights of the Child, particularly Articles 4, 28 and 29;

(b) the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, particularly Articles 2 and 27.
