These Rules amend the Norfolk Island Continued Laws Ordinance 2015 to insert a new section into the Employment Act 1988 (NI) to declare the National Day of Mourning as a one-off public holiday on Norfolk Island to be observed on 22 September 2022.

1  Name

                   This instrument is the Norfolk Island Continued Laws Amendment (National Day of Mourning) Rules 2022.

2  Commencement

             (1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Insert:

73VA  After section 9

Add:

9A  National Day of Mourning

                   A National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is to be observed as an additional, one-off, public holiday on 22 September 2022.
