This instrument imposes obligations on Telecommunication Carriers to supply asset information to the Secretary of Home Affairs, and report to the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) about cyber incidents. The provision of asset information to Home Affairs, will allow it to assess security risks to these assets and work with owners to mitigate these risks. The provision of cyber incident information to ASD will allow it to assess whole of economy cyber risks.
