This instrument amends multiple instruments to make administrative amendments to the flag fall amounts for general practice services provided under the Health Insurance (Section 3C General Medical – Expansion of GP and Allied Health Mental Health Services) Determination 2020, inserts a cessation date for mental health services for patients affected by bushfires and extends the cessation date for COVID-19 pathology services and a general practice COVID-19 support service.

1  Name

                        This instrument is the Health Insurance Legislation Amendment (2022 Measures
No. 3) Determination 2022

2  Commencement

(1)       Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

                        This instrument is made under subsection 3C(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973.

                        Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.


 

Schedule 1— Flag fall amendments

Health Insurance (Section 3C General Medical – Expansion of GP and Allied Health Mental Health Services) Determination 2020

1.    Section 11

Repeal the section, substitute:

11  Fee in relation to the first patient during each attendance at a residential aged care facility

(1)  For the first patient attended during one attendance by a general practitioner at one residential aged care facility on one occasion, the fee for the medical service described in whichever of items 2733 and 2735 applies is the amount listed in the item plus $67.35.

(2)  For the first patient attended during one attendance by a medical practitioner at one residential aged care facility on one occasion, the fee for the medical service described in whichever of items 941 and 942 applies is the amount listed in the item plus $48.90.

(3)  For the first patient attended during one attendance by a general practitioner at one residential aged care facility on one occasion, the fee for the medical service described in whichever of items 93400, 93401, 93402, 93403, 93421, 93287 and 93288 applies is the amount listed in the item plus $57.25.

(4)  For the first patient attended during one attendance by a medical practitioner at one residential aged care facility on one occasion, the fee for the medical service described in whichever of items 93431, 93432, 93433, 93434, 93451, 93291 and 93292 applies is the amount listed in the item plus $41.60.

 


 

Schedule 2— Cessation of bushfire services

Health Insurance (Section 3C General Medical Services General Practitioner Telehealth Services) Determination 2018

2.    After section 3

Insert:

3A.        Cessation

    Unless earlier revoked, this instrument ceases as if revoked on 30 June 2022 at 11.59pm.

 

Health Insurance (Section 3C General Medical Services – Mental Health Services for Bushfire Response) Determination 2020

3.    After section 3

Insert:

3A.  Cessation

               Unless earlier revoked, this instrument ceases as if revoked on 30 June 2022 at 11.59pm.

 


 

Schedule 3— Extension of COVID-19 services

Health Insurance (Section 3C Pathology Services – COVID19) Determination 2020

4.    Section 3

Repeal the section, substitute:

3.  Cessation

            Unless earlier revoked this instrument ceases on 30 September 2022 at 11.59pm.
