Determinations/Other as made
This instrument credits increased carbon sequestration through the establishment of new plantation forests, the transition of existing plantation forests from short rotation to long rotation plantation forests, and the avoided conversion of existing plantation forests to non-forested land. It sets out the rules for calculating, crediting and reporting the greenhouse gas abatement from projects undertaking plantation forestry activities for the purpose of creating Australian carbon credit units (ACCUs). It also sets out the rules for eligibility of projects to be credited for greenhouse gas abatement, and specific notification and monitoring requirements.
