AusCheck (Background Checks—ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022) Declaration 2021

I, Karen Andrews, Minister for Home Affairs, under section 21F of the AusCheck Regulations 2017, declare:

(a)   that background checks of individuals in connection with MNE accreditation in relation to the International Cricket Council Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 must include assessment of information relating to the matters mentioned in:

                    (i)  paragraphs 5(b) and (d) of the AusCheck Act 2007 (the Act); and

                   (ii)  for background checks of individuals aged 18 years or over—paragraph 5(a) of the Act; and

(b)   that the assessment of information relating to the matter mentioned in paragraph 5(d) of the Act must consist of an electronic identity verification check. 

This instrument commences immediately after the commencement of the AusCheck (Major National Event—ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022) Declaration 2021
