Direction under subsection 19(5)

NATIONAL CERVICAL SCREENING PROGRAM

 

I, Paul McBride, First Assistant Secretary, Medical Benefits Division, Health Resourcing Group, delegate for the Minister for Health and Aged Care, acting under subsection 19(5) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act), hereby:

(1)   DIRECT that medicare benefit shall be payable in respect of a professional service specified in an item in the pathology services table that is rendered to a person for the purposes the National Cervical Screening Program.  

(2)   DECLARE that this Direction shall have effect from the date of signature.

 

Note: Expressions used in this Direction have the same meaning as in the Act.
