This instrument amends the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Regulations 2018 to allow a category of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander bark paintings to be temporarily exported for exhibition or a similar purpose. It also adds five names to the list of medal recipients and defines the term Victoria Cross medal.

1  Name

                   This instrument is the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Amendment (2021 Measures No. 1) Regulations 2021.

2  Commencement

             (1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

                   This instrument is made under the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986.

1  Clause 5.3 of Schedule 1 (at the end of the cell at table item 2, column 1)

Add “, other than bark paintings owned, or held on loan, by the Commonwealth or a principal collecting institution”.
