These regulations amend the Primary Industries (Customs) Charges Regulations 2000 to adjust charges on cherries in response to an industry request, to support investment in research, development and biosecurity, and to facilitate repayment of the cherry industry emergency eradication response contributions underwritten by the Australian Government.

1  Name

                   This instrument is the Primary Industries (Customs) Charges Amendment (Cherries) Regulations 2021.

2  Commencement

             (1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Omit “3 cents”, substitute “1 cent”.

Omit “3.97”, substitute “5”.

Omit “nil”, substitute “0.7 cents per kilogram”.

4  Subclause 5.7(2) of Schedule 10
