PARACHUTE DESCENTS

AUTHORISATION AND SPECIFICATION

 

AUSTRALIAN SKYDIVING ASSOCIATION

 

 

I, WILLIAM JOHN McINTYRE, Executive Manager, Aviation Safety Standards, a delegate of CASA, under regulation 152 of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 authorise members of the Australian Skydiving Association to make parachute descents if, and only if, the descents are conducted in accordance with the specifications set out in Schedule 1.

 

Words and expressions used in this instrument are defined in Schedule 9.

SCHEDULE 1

SPECIFICATIONS

   1.1     A member of the ASA who is making a parachute descent must conduct the parachute descent in accordance with the ASA Operational Regulations.

   1.2     A member of the ASA must not commence a parachute descent unless each person

(a)   is a member of the ASA or has agreed in writing to be bound by the ASA Operational Regulations; and

(b)   complies with the ASA Operational Regulations.

Note   At the date of commencement of CASA 100/21 – Parachute Descents (CASA 263/02 (Australian Skydiving Association) Amendment Instrument 2021, the ASA Operational Regulations were available at the website: Documents & Forms (skydivingmelbourne.com.au)

SCHEDULE 9

DEFINITIONS

In this instrument, unless the contrary intention appears:

ASA means the Australian Skydiving Association Incorporated.

ASA Operational Regulations means the Operational Regulations, published by ASA, dated 17 November 2021, as existing at that time.
