These regulations amend the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995 to allow regulated hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) imported or manufactured from 1 January 2020 to be used for laboratory and analytical purposes that are consistent with the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. These amendments also add strict liability offences for breaches of permit conditions by fire protection industry permit holders.
