1  Name

                   This instrument is the Coronavirus Economic Response Package (Modifications—National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse) Determination 2020.

2  Commencement

             (1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

                   This instrument is made under subitem 1(2) of Schedule 5 to the Coronavirus Economic Response Package Omnibus (Measures No. 2) Act 2020.

4  Modifications

                   Each modification of a provision of the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018 as set out in a Schedule to this instrument is determined for the purposes of subitem 1(2) of Schedule 5 to the Coronavirus Economic Response Package Omnibus (Measures No. 2) Act 2020.

 

Schedule 1Modifications of the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018

  

1  Disapplication of paragraph 19(2)(a)

Paragraph 19(2)(a) of the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018 does not apply, to the extent that it requires a signature of a person or the witnessing of a signature, for the period starting on 1 March 2020 and ending on 31 December 2020 in relation to:

                     (a)  an application made under section 19 of that Act during that period; or

                     (b)  an application made under that section before the start of that period if the application is dealt with during the period.

2  Disapplication of paragraph 19(2)(d)

Paragraph 19(2)(d) of the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018 does not apply, to the extent that it requires a signature of a person or the witnessing of a signature, for the period starting on 1 March 2020 and ending on 31 December 2020 in relation to:

                     (a)  an application made under section 19 of that Act during that period; or

                     (b)  an application made under that section before the start of that period if the application is dealt with during the period.
