This specification amends the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Participating Jurisdiction) Specification 2018 to facilitate the establishment of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission in the Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria. These States and Territories are host jurisdictions. The concept of host jurisdiction is defined in section 10 of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 and was used to establish the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the States and Territories. To fall under the jurisdiction of the Commission, States and Territories must be included as participating jurisdictions via an instrument made by the Minister under section 10A of the Act.

1  Name

                   This instrument is the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Participating Jurisdiction) Specification 2019.

2  Commencement

                   This instrument commences on 1 July 2019.

3  Authority

                   This instrument is made under section 10A of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013.

4  Schedules

                   Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
