This determination provides for Western Australia to be a 'declared child protection State or Territory' for the purposes of the income management regime. The determination enables a child protection officer with the Western Australian department responsible for child protection to give the Secretary notice under the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999 requiring a person to be subject to income management.

1  Name

                This instrument is the Social Security (Administration) (Declared child protection State or Territory – Western Australia) Determination 2019.

2  Commencement

             (1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

                This instrument is made under section 123TF of the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999.

4  Definitions

                In this instrument:

                        Act means the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999.

                   Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Declared child protection State or Territory

                For section 123TF of the Act, Western Australia is a declared child protection State or Territory.
