This instrument imposes additional conditions on holders of export licences who export sheep between November and April by sea to the Middle East, as defined in circumstances where the vessel on which the sheep are being transported will travel through waters in the Arabian or Red Seas north of latitude 11° N at any time during the voyage. In practice, the order will apply to all voyages to the Persian Gulf and those that travel to, or through, the Red Sea during that time of the year.
