This instrument amends the Radiocommunications (Foreign Space Objects) Determination 2014 to reflect changes in the company names of certain owners, controllers or operators of foreign space objects and to include a new company SpaceQuest, Ltd as a specified owner, controller or operator of a foreign space object.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority makes the following instrument under paragraph 16(1)(ca) of the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

1                 Name

                   This is the Radiocommunications (Foreign Space Objects) Amendment Determination 2018 (No. 1).

2                 Commencement

                   This instrument commences at the start of the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

3                 Authority

                   This instrument is made under paragraph 16(1)(ca) of the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

4                 Amendments

                   The instrument that is specified in Schedule 1 is amended as set out in the applicable items in that Schedule.

1          Schedule 1 (item 5)

                Omit “Inmarsat”, substitute “Inmarsat Global”.

2          Schedule 1 (item 9) and Schedule 3 (item 3)

                Omit “Shin Satellite”, substitute “Thaicom”.

3          Schedule 1 (after item 16)

Add:

17        SpaceQuest, Ltd. (incorporated in the United States of America)
