1 Name
This instrument is the Parliamentary Business Resources (Office Holder) Determination 2017.
2 Commencement
This instrument commences at the same time as the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017.
3 Authority
This instrument is made under section 7 of the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017.
4 Definitions
Note: A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in the Act, including the following:
(a) member;
(b) office holder.
In this instrument:
Act means the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017.
minority party has the same meaning as in the Parliamentary Business Resources Regulations 2017.
5 Members who are office holders
(1) For the purposes of section 7 of the Act, a member who:
(a) holds a position specified in Schedule 1, or
(b) performs a function of a kind specified in Schedule 1;
is an office holder.

10 | Member of the Speaker’s Panel in the House of Representatives |
11 | Temporary Chair of Committees in the Senate |
12 | Chair or Deputy Chair of a properly constituted Parliamentary Committee, including Select, Standing and Statutory Committees, and whether Joint or of a single House. |
