This Determination amends the eligibility provisions for the ADF gap year educational bonus to restrict access to members who completed their gap year with the ADF before 1 January 2013. The Determination also adjusts tables that outline what allowances can be paid during recreation leave and long service leave.

Citation

1.

This Determination is Defence Determination 2016/16, Recruit instructors and ADF gap year – educational bonus – amendment.

This Determination may also be cited as Defence Determination 2016/16.

Commencement

 

This Determination commences on 5 May 2016.

Amendment

 

Defence Determination 2005/15, Conditions of Service, as amended,1 is amended as set out in this Determination.

Transitional – Recruit instructors – recreation leave and long service leave

1.

This clause applies to members who meet both of the following conditions.

 

a.

The member met the conditions of eligibility for the recruit instructors disability allowance and recruit instructor sustainability allowance under DFRT Determination No. 11 of 2013, ADF Allowances, sections B.17.3 and C.3.3 between 10 March 2016 and 5 May 2016.

 

b.

The member took a period of approved recreation leave or long service leave between 10 March 2016 and 5 May 2016.

2.

An eligible member is entitled to be paid the amount of recruit instructors disability allowance and recruit instructor sustainability allowance for the period of approved recreation leave or long service leave had this Determination been in force from 10 March 2016.
