1              Name of Determination

                This Determination is the Parliamentary Superannuation Age Factors (Surcharge) Determination 2015 (No. 1).

2              Commencement and revocation

(a)    This Determination commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.

(b)   This Determination revokes the Superannuation Pension Conversion Factors Determination No. 1/2004 made by the Parliamentary Retiring Allowances Trust on 9 December 2004 under subsection 22A(1) of the Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Act 1948.

3              Age factors

                For the purposes of section 22A of Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Act 1948, the age factor for a person is determined under Tables A, B, C and D of the Schedule to this Determination, based on:

                (a)    whether the person is male or female;

                (b)    whether the benefit is a retirement pension or an invalidity pension; and

                (c)    the age of the person when the benefit becomes payable.
