This regulation amends the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 to give effect to Security Council Resolution 2153 (2014) which lifted the absolute prohibition on the importation of rough diamonds from Côte d’Ivoire imposed under Security Council Resolution 1643 (2005).

1  Name

                   This is the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Amendment (Côte d’Ivoire Rough Diamonds) Regulation 2015.

2  Commencement

                   This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3  Authority

                   This instrument is made under the Customs Act 1901.

4  Schedules

                   Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956

1  Regulation 4MA (heading)

Repeal the heading, substitute:

4MA  Importation of rough diamonds

2  Regulation 4N

Repeal the regulation.
