Proclamations/Other as amended, taking into account amendments up to Marriage (Recognised Denominations) Amendment (Name Changes) Proclamation 2015
This proclamation declares religious bodies or organisations to be recognised denominations for the purposes of the Marriage Act 1961. Recognised denominations are permitted to nominate ministers of religion directly to State and Territory Registrars of Births, Deaths and Marriages for authorisation as marriage celebrants. By this instrument the Marriage (Recognised Denominations) Proclamation 2006 is revoked and remade to correct the inadvertent omission of the Independent Baptist Fellowship from the Marriage (Recognised Denominations) Proclamation 2006.
