Subsection 26(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992

Variation to Licence Area Plan – Gosford Radio – No.1 of 2014

Amended Explanatory Statement

I refer to the letter from Senator Dean Smith sent to The Hon Malcolm Turnbull, Minister for Communications, on 6 March 2014, in which he drew the Minister’s attention to a clerical error made in the explanatory statement for the Variation to Licence Area Plan – Gosford Radio – No.1 of 2014.  The legislative instrument was made pursuant to subsection 26(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 and was required as one of the mechanisms to give effect to the planning of the broadcast services bands.

The explanatory statement has been amended to correct a reference to ‘Darwin’, which should have read ‘Gosford’.  The clerical error originally occurred in the ‘Statement of Compatibility with Human Rights’ section of the explanatory statement.

Enclosed is an amended explanatory statement for the legislative instrument Variation to Licence Area Plan – Gosford Radio – No.1 of 2014.
