Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan Amendment 2012

This Bill/Legislative Instrument is compatible with the human rights and freedoms recognised or declared in the international instruments listed in section 3 of the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011.

Overview of the Bill/Legislative Instrument
The instrument amends the Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006 to move the mechanism for setting the dates of the fishing year from the Plan to a Determination, makes minor changes to some definitions and removes specific reference to the Bycatch Action Plan.  

Human rights implications
This Bill/Legislative Instrument does not engage any of the applicable rights or freedoms.

Conclusion
This Bill/Legislative Instrument is compatible with human rights as it does not raise any human rights issues.
