The instrument establishes a new treatment for relevant members (including ex members) of the Australian Defence Force and dependants, with certain chronic conditions - Telemonitoring Treatment. Pursuant to this treatment a National Broadband Network-enabled system electronically links a medical practice to a patient in his/her home thereby allowing the medical monitoring of the patient’s condition.
