These Rules amend the Dental Benefits Rules 2009 to index the benefit for the preventative dental check (item 88000) from $159.85 to $163.05, in line with other Medicare benefits, which are indexed on 1 November every year.

I, NICOLA ROXON, Minister for Health and Ageing, make these Rules under section 60(1) of the Dental Benefits Act 2008.

1              Name of Rules

                These Rules are the Dental Benefits Amendment Rules 2011.

2              Commencement

                These Rules commence on 1 January 2012.

3              Amendment of Dental Benefits Rules 2009

                Schedule 1 amends the Dental Benefits Rules 2009.
