General Comments: This instrument is also taken to be made under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988 (the DRCA), by virtue of transitional provisions in the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Legislation Amendment (Defence Force) Act 2017. The Minster for Veterans’ Affairs is responsible for administering the DRCA.

Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Definition of Employee) Notice 2011 (1)

Notice No.1 of 2011.

I, CHRISTOPHER VAUGHAN EVANS, Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, make this Notice under subsection 5(6) of the
Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.

1              Name of Notice

                This Notice is the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Definition of Employee) Notice 2011 (1).

2              Commencement and Cessation

                This Notice commences on the first day after its registration on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) and ceases to have effect after 30 November 2011.

3              Declaration

                For subsection 5(6) of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, I declare that the class of persons mentioned in Column 2 of the Schedule are employees of the Commonwealth for the purposes of the acts mentioned in Column 3 of the Schedule.

Note     The persons are engaged in activities or perform acts at the request or direction, or for the benefit, of the Commonwealth.
