SLI 2010 No. 104 Regulations as made
These Regulations amend the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Regulations 1989 to remove an exemption that currently applies to temporary residents buying residential real estate in Australia. This ensures that temporary residents need to notify the Treasurer before buying residential real estate in Australia.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Amendment Regulations 2010 (No. 2).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.

3              Amendment of Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Regulations 1989

                Schedule 1 amends the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Regulations 1989.
