Proclamations/Other as amended, taking into account amendments up to Marriage (Recognised Denominations) Amendment Proclamation 2010 (No. 1)
This Proclamation declares religious bodies or organizations to be recognized denominations for the purposes of the Marriage Act 1961. Recognized denominations are permitted to nominate ministers of religion directly to State and Territory Registrars of Births, Deaths and Marriages for authorization as marriage celebrants. By this instrument the Marriage (Recognised Denominations) Proclamation 2006 is revoked and remade to correct the inadvertent omission of the Independent Baptist Fellowship from the Marriage (Recognised Denominations) Proclamation 2006.
