These Regulations amend the Defence Force Regulations 1952 and the Defence Force Discipline Regulations 1985 to reflect and reinstate the system of trials by court martial and Defence Force magistrate that existed prior to the High Court ruling that the Australian Military Court was invalid.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Defence Force Legislation Amendment Regulations 2009 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.

3              Amendment of Defence Force Regulations 1952

                Schedule 1 amends the Defence Force Regulations 1952.

4              Amendment of Defence Force Discipline Regulations 1985

                Schedule 2 amends the Defence Force Discipline Regulations 1985.
