This Proclamation alters the High Court boundary to remove land occupied by the National Portrait Gallery from the precincts of the High Court.

High Court (Precincts) Proclamation 20081

High Court of Australia Act 1979

I, QUENTIN BRYCE, Governor‑General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under subsection 17 (2) of the High Court of Australia Act 1979:

(a)   revoke the declaration made under that subsection by Proclamation dated 9 July 1982, and published in the Gazette on 13 July 198 2; and

(b)   declare to be part of the precincts of the High Court:

         (i)   the land described in Schedule 1, other than the part of the land on which a building occupied by the High Court is erected; and

        (ii)   any building, not being a building occupied by the High Court, erected on the land described in Schedule 1.
