These Regulations amend the Australian Federal Police Regulations 1979 (the Regulations) to vary the way that fees for National Police Check services are calculated, and removes a provision stating that the fees for police services itemised in Schedule 2 of the Regulations are 'taxable supplies'.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Australian Federal Police Amendment Regulations 2008 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on 1 October 2008.

3              Amendment of Australian Federal Police Regulations 1979

                Schedule 1 amends the Australian Federal Police Regulations 1979.

                (a)    the amount mentioned in the item; and

               (b)    any amount payable by the AFP in the course of providing the service, rounded up to the nearest dollar.
