I, LISA MARIAN PAUL, Secretary of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, make this instrument under subsection 502D(3), subsection 502D(5), subsection 542FA(3), subsection 542FA(5), subsection 602C(3) and subsection 602C(5) of the Social Security Act 1991.

1              Name of instrument

                This instrument is the Social Security (Participation Exemption – Parenting Order) (DEWR) (Revocation) Instrument 2007.

2              Commencement

                This instrument commences on the later of:

                (a)    1 January 2008; or

               (b)    the day after the day it is registered.

3              Revocation

                The Social Security (Participation Exemption – Parenting Order) (DEWR) Instrument 2007 is revoked.

4              Transition of pre-existing determinations

                If, before the commencement of this instrument:

                (a)    the Secretary made a determination under subsection 502D(4), subsection 542FA(4), or subsection 602C(4) of the Act in relation to a person in the class of people set out in subsection 4(2) of the Social Security (Participation Exemption – Parenting Order) (DEWR) Instrument 2007; and

               (b)    that determination was to end on or after the commencement of this instrument;

                that determination is remade in identical terms, as a determination under subsection 502D(3), subsection 542FA(3), or subsection 602C(3) of the Act, as the case requires.

Note 1   This section is made under subsection 502D(3), subsection 542FA(3), and subsection 602C(3) of the Act.

Note 2   Each new determination made under this section expires on the same day the determination it replaces would have, had the latter determination continued past the date of commencement of this instrument.
