R&D Start Program Directions No 2 of 2002

I, Ian Elgin Macfarlane, Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources, acting under subsection 20 (1) of the Industry Research and Development Act 1986, give the following directions to the Industry Research and Development Board.

Name of directions

1.         These directions are the R&D Start Program Directions No 2 of 2002.

Commencement

2.         These directions commence on the day on which the directions are published in the Gazette.

Object of these directions

3.         The purpose of these directions is to temporarily suspend, until such time as these directions are revoked, the acceptance, assessment and grant of applications for    financial assistance or loans under the R&D Start Program.

Interpretation

4.         Words and phrases in these directions have the same meaning as provided for in the  R&D Start Program Directions No 1 of 2002.

5.         These directions are to operate in addition to the R&D Start Program Directions No        1 of 2002.  In the event of any inconsistency between these directions and the R&D     Start Program Directions No 1 of 2002, these directions will prevail.

6.         These directions apply to any application for financial assistance or a loan under the R&D Start Program regardless of the particular Ministerial directions under which        the application was made and regardless of when the application was received.

Current applications deemed to be refused

7.                     The Board is deemed to have refused any application for financial assistance or a        loan that it has received but not granted before these directions commence.

No acceptance of applications for financial assistance or loans

8.         The Board must not accept an application for financial assistance or a loan after         these directions commence.

No assessment of applications for financial assistance or loans

9.         The Board must not assess an application for financial assistance or a loan after             these directions commence.

No grant of applications for financial assistance or loans

10.      The Board must not grant an application for financial assistance or a loan after these directions commence.
