These Regulations amend the Australian War Memorial Regulations 1983 to enable the Australian War Memorial to enter into all contracts under section 35 of the Australian War Memorial Act 1980 to an amount of $1 million without the need of the approval of the Minister for Veterans' Affairs.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Australian War Memorial Amendment Regulations 2007 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.

3              Amendment of Australian War Memorial Regulations 1983

                Schedule 1 amends the Australian War Memorial Regulations 1983.

insert

6A           Contracts (Act s 35)

         (1)   For paragraph 35 (1) (a) of the Act, $1 000 000 is prescribed.

         (2)   For paragraph 35 (1) (b) of the Act, $1 000 000 is prescribed.
