I, PHILIP MICHAEL JEFFERY, Governor‑General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make this Proclamation under subsections 39 (7) and 69J (3) of the Family Law Act 1975.

1              Name of Proclamation

                This Proclamation is the Summary Courts Jurisdiction (Matrimonial Causes and Children) Proclamation 2007.

2              Commencement

                This Proclamation commences on 23 April 2007.

3              Jurisdictional restriction

                On and after 23 April 2007, proceedings in relation to matters arising under Parts V and VII of the Family Law Act 1975 may not be instituted in, or transferred to, the following courts of summary jurisdiction located in the State of New South Wales.
