1 Name of Regulations
These Regulations are the International Transfer of Prisoners (Transfer of Sentenced Persons Convention) Amendment Regulations 2007 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.
3 Amendment of International Transfer of Prisoners (Transfer of Sentenced Persons Convention) Regulations 2002
Schedule 1 amends the International Transfer of Prisoners (Transfer of Sentenced Persons Convention) Regulations 2002.

5 Application of the Act
(1) For section 8 of the Act, the Act applies to each country specified in Schedule 2, subject to the Convention.
(2) However, subregulation (1) does not apply to the United States of America for the transfer to Australia of a prisoner serving a sentence of imprisonment ordered by a military commission established under chapter 47A of title 10 of the United States Code.
