DETERMINATION 2000/01

SECTION 20 OF THE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT 1997

DETERMINATION TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL ACCOUNT

I, Anne Morant, Acting Branch Manager, Financial Framework, pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Finance Chief Executive under section 53 of the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997, determine, for the purposes of section 20 of that Act, that the Department of Health and Aged Care -Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care Account is established as a Special Account.

I further determine that:

(a)               amounts of the following kinds may be credited to this account:

·                    money that is held in trust for, or otherwise for the benefit of, a person other than the Commonwealth;

·                    any money appropriated by the Parliament for an outcome of the Department;

·                    all money received in consideration for any service, benefit, activity, transaction or other matter which is congruent with the expenditure purposes of the account;

·                    all money paid to the Commonwealth by any person for the expenditure purposes of the account; and

(b)               the purposes for which amounts may be debited to the account are:

·                    for expenditure relating to the administration of the Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care and national programs to improve quality and safety in health care.
