I, PROFESSOR MARIE BASHIR, AC, CVO, Administrator of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Marriage Act 1961.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Marriage Amendment Regulations 2006 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on 1 July 2006.

3              Amendment of Marriage Regulations 1963

                Schedule 1 amends the Marriage Regulations 1963.
