The instrument makes it clear, by amending Instrument No. 8 of 1997, that Instrument No. 9 of 1997 (Guide to the Assessment of Rates of Veterans' Pensions (GARP)) applies to certain decisions of the Repatriation Commission, Veterans' Review Board and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in its (GARP V's) amended state ie as it was amended by Instruments Nos 2 and 3 of 1998. The Instrument also corrects a number of errors in GARP V.

REPATRIATION COMMISSION

 

Instrument varying the instrument of revocation of the
Guide to the Assessment of Rates of
Veterans’ Pensions (‘the Guide’) and varying the Guide,
under subsection 29(2) of the
Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

 

 

 

1.   The Repatriation Commission:

 

(a)       varies the instrument of revocation of the Guide to the Assessment of Rates     of Veterans’ Pensions, instrument No. 8 of 1997 (as varied by instrument             No.1 of 1998), under subsection 29(2) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986            by inserting after “instrument No.9 of 1997” in clause 2, “(as varied by instruments Nos 2 and 3 of 1998)”; and

 

(b)      by and in accordance with the Schedule to this instrument, varies the Guide      to the Assessment of Rates of Veterans’ Pensions, instrument No. 9 of 1997 (as varied by instrument No. 2 of 1998), under subsection 29(2) of the       Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986.
