Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

 

Determination of Non-warlike Service

OPERATION HUSKY

 

 

I, De-Anne Kelly, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, for the Minister for Defence:

 

a.                      revoke the determination made under subsection 5C(1) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (the Act) on 6 December 2004 in relation to Operation HUSKY, and

b.                      determine that:

(i).            the area of operations comprises Sierra Leone; and

(ii).          service rendered as a member of the Australian Defence Force assigned for service with the International Military Advisory and Training Team in Sierra Leone on Operation HUSKY during the period 15 January 2001 to 28 February 2003 in the area of operations is non-warlike service for the purposes of the definition of “non-warlike service” in sub section 5C(1) of the Act.
