Removes the requirement in the Veterans' Children Education Scheme ("the Scheme")(made under s.117 of the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986) that in order to be eligible for benefits under the Scheme a student must not cease to be in full-time education for more than three years (“the 3 year rule”).

Section 117

 

Instrument of Approval

 

 

 

1.         I, BRUCE SCOTT, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, in accordance with subsection 117(3) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, hereby approve the attached Instrument (30/2000) to vary the Veterans' Children Education Scheme prepared by the Repatriation Commission under subsection 117(1) of that Act.

 

2.                  This Instrument commences, or is taken to have commenced, on 1 January 2001.
