Consumer Protection Notice No 6 of 1999

 

AMENDMENT TO CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY STANDARD:  CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS FOR USE IN MOTOR VEHICLES

 

I, JOSEPH BENEDICT HOCKEY, Minister for Financial Services and Regulation, pursuant to section 65E of the Trade Practices Act 1974, hereby DECLARE that the consumer product safety standard for child restraint systems for use in motor vehicles as published in Consumer Protection Notice No. 2 of 1996 in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No S 500 of 18 December 1996 is amended by adding immediately below the existing paragraph of Division 2: Specified Standard, the following paragraph:

 

            Goods described under clause 2 of Division 1 may be supplied for child restraint systems made to the requirements of Australian Standard AS 1754-1975 as amended by Amendment No. 1 of February 1976, Amendment No. 2 of March 1978, Amendment No.3 of July 1979, the Corrigendum of October 1979 and Amendment No. 4 of July 1985.
