Adopts and varies Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1841:1997 'Portable Fire Extinguishers' approved by the Standards Association of Australia on 24 January 1997, amended by Amendment No. 1 published on 23 February 2001 and Amendment No. 2 published on 10 April 2003.

This Notice was originally made under section 65E of the Trade Practices Act 1974 and is continued in force under section 104 of the Australian Consumer Law (as set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) (Act No. 51 of 1974) (see Schedule 7, item 4 of the Trade Practices Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Act (No. 2) 2010 (Act No. 103 of 2010)).
