Digital Data Service Provider Declaration 1999 (No. 1)

I, Richard Kenneth Robert Alston, Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, make the following Declaration under subsections 26A(1) and (2) of the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999.

Citation

               1.   This Declaration may be cited as the Digital Data Service Provider Declaration 1999 (No. 1).

Commencement

               2.   This Declaration commences on gazettal.

Interpretation

               3.   In this Declaration:

Act means the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999.

Telstra means Telstra Corporation Limited (ACN 051 775 556).

General digital data service provider

               4.   Telstra is a general digital data service provider for the general digital data service areas ascertained in accordance with section 4 of the Digital Data Service Areas Determination 1999 (No. 1).

Special digital data service provider

               5.   Telstra is a special digital data service provider for the special digital data service area specified in section 6 of the Digital Data Service Areas Determination 1999 (No. 1).
