1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Amendment Regulations 2004 (No. 2).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3              Amendment of Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Regulations 1997

                Schedule 1 amends the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Regulations 1997.

         (1)   For subparagraph (b) (i) of the definition of responsible Minister in section 5 of the Act, the Minister for Finance and Administration is prescribed as the Minister responsible for the Commonwealth companies mentioned in the following table:

9              Compliance with government procurement requirements (Act s 47A (1))

         (1)   For subsection 47A (1) of the Act, the Commonwealth authorities mentioned in Part 1 of Schedule 1, and the wholly-owned Commonwealth companies mentioned in Part 2 of Schedule 1, are specified for section 47A of the Act.

         (2)   If the name of an authority mentioned in Part 1 of Schedule 1 is amended by a regulation, the authority, under the new name, is taken to be prescribed.

         (3)   If the name of a company mentioned in Part 2 of Schedule 1 is changed, the company, under the new name, is taken to be prescribed.
