I, PHILIP MICHAEL JEFFERY, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Crimes Act 1914.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Crimes Amendment Regulations 2003 (No. 4).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on gazettal.

3              Amendment of Crimes Regulations 1990

                Schedule 1 amends the Crimes Regulations 1990.

Note   The Sentence Administration Act 1995 (WA) was repealed on 31 August 2003 by section 29 of the Sentencing Legislation Amendment and Repeal Act 2003 (WA) (the Repeal Act). However, under the transitional provisions set out in Schedule 1 to the Repeal Act (see in particular clauses 7 and 8 of that Schedule), an order of the kind mentioned in subparagraph (d) (i) or (ii) may still be made in respect of a person who, immediately before 31 August 2003, was subject to a sentence of imprisonment to which the Sentence Administration Act 1995 (WA) applied.

[3]           After paragraph 5 (1) (d)

insert

                (e)    the release of a prisoner under a re-entry release order made under Part 4 of the Sentence Administration Act 2003 of Western Australia.
