This Proclamation amends the Quarantine Proclamation 1998 to ensure that appropriate measures under the Act may be taken to deal with threats to human health from diseases such as smallpox and to reduce restrictions on importation of non-commercial quantities of certain goods for therapeutic use in a way that is consistent with effective management of the quarantine risk.
