I, GUY STEPHEN MONTAGUE GREEN, Administrator of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Criminal Code Act 1995.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Criminal Code Amendment Regulations 2002 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on gazettal.

3              Amendment of Criminal Code Regulations 2002

         (1)   Schedule 1 amends the Criminal Code Regulations 2002.

         (2)   Schedule 2 amends the Criminal Code Regulations 2002, as amended by Schedule 1.

4              Terrorist organisations

         (1)   For paragraph (c) of the definition of terrorist organisation in subsection 102.1 (1) of the Code, the organisations mentioned in Schedule 1 are specified.

         (2)   For subregulation (1), an organisation is mentioned in Schedule 1 if the name of the organisation, or another name by which the organisation is known, is mentioned in Schedule 1.

Note   Subsection 102.1 (5) of the Code provides that a regulation made specifying an organisation for the purposes mentioned in this regulation ceases to have effect on the second anniversary of the day on which it takes effect.
