I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Weapons of Mass Destruction (Prevention of Proliferation) Act 1995.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Weapons of Mass Destruction Amendment Regulations 2001 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations commence on gazettal.

3              Amendment of Weapons of Mass Destruction Regulations

                Schedule 1 amends the Weapons of Mass Destruction Regulations.

                These Regulations are the Weapons of Mass Destruction Regulations 1995.

[2]         Paragraphs 12 (a) and (b)

substitute

                (a)    an SES employee in the Department; or

               (b)    an APS employee in the Department with the classification of Executive Level 2, or an equivalent classification.
